Romans 2:4 NASB
Or do you think lightly of the riches of His kindness and restraint and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance?
There was a dog who was beaten by its owner and left for dead. I took the dog in and cleaned him up. I decided to keep the dog in the family. The dog had been beaten so badly that even after years of doing good for the dog, he still would not let me pet him. It was down right embarrassing, that dog made me look so bad, he would flinch every time I went to pet it. People looked at me as if I was a bad parent and didn't know how to treat the dog. One day I looked at the dog and said "I have been so good to you, I have taken you in, I protect you, feed you, and have met all your needs, what is it? Why don't you trust me? Immediately, God spoke to me and said " I feel the same way"
Now this didn't happen to me, it was something I heard the other day and thought it was an excellent point.
We have a Father in heaven who so desires to be in a relationship with us. It is easy to be so accustomed to the past and allow hardened hearts to keep us from change. Can you see how destructive wrong thinking can be?
The word repent simply means "new mind or new way of thinking". As we change our thoughts and get them in alignment with the truth, everything will improve. We do this by reading the Word, listening to sermons, surrounding our selves with Godly council, and allowing the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Correct thinking leads to correct results. As we grow in our relationship we will grow into who we were created to be. Praise God, People will look at you and think wow what a great God they serve.
Open your hearts and receive His love today. With the correct thinking nothing will be able to hinder us from enjoying relationship with our Father.
